The most BEAUTIFUL DAY at the Beach!

Okay, so I've lived in Oregon my whole life, been to the beach lots and I can't believe that at the age of 30, I finally experience the most gorgeous day at the beach EVER! We went to Pacific City with our Young Women for a nice little retreat for 3 days and 2 nights. We couldn't have asked for better weather. The first day we climbed up this steep sand dune. Here's a view from almost the top. BEAUTIFUL!
Here is what we found on the other side! It was so awesome! I felt like a little kid again and wanted to go explore so bad! But...I didn't.
Here's a good chunk of the YW that climbed with us. And Betty(top left) She's 81 years old and climbed the whole way with a smile on her face! The girls helped pull her up at the very end.
Now some of you might be asking yourselves...Where was Kirstins baby, that she is still nursing, during all of this fun and excitement? Well one of the Dads that came along with us was more than willing to watch here while I did my leader thing with the girls. Now here's the funny thing. While we were up climbing and enjoying the view, Kensley was getting tired and fussy. Sorry Bro. Holmes. REWIND...earlier in the day before we headed for the beach, Bro. Holmes had given her just a little bit of BLUE Animal Cookies. Okay, Fastforward...They said that Kensley cried so much that she finally threw up and then went to sleep. Well what do you think she threw up?...You guessed it. BLUE ANIMAL COOKIES! All over her sweatshirt and his. So now I feel terrible because she threw up, and she threw up all over some one else. I thought it wierd that she threw up because she was crying so much. None of my other kids ever did that. So we're getting ready to head back the beach, I bend over to put my flip flop on and lo and behold........ Another vomit session! Lucky me. She missed most of me. But blue throw up sure makes the sand pretty! Poor Thing!
Unfortunately that was not the end of the puke. It continued into the night and most of the next day. All in all she shared her "lunch" with a couple young women, Bro. Holmes, the Bishop...who I think got the worst of it...myself, about a dozen towels, the bath tub, a table at Tillamook cheese factory, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree! Now we're just waiting out the runs! For the most part, she would vomit and then start smiling right away. She's such a sweetheart!

We had a great time with the girls building unity and strengthening our Integrity. We made shirts together to emphasize that we are a TEAM! We came up with a team name which is T-DALE B-D.O.Gs Troutdale Beautiful Daughters of God! We talked about our goal as a team and the skills we need to accomplish them (all gospel related of course) The girls did awesome with their shirts. Here's the group!

School's Out!!

We made a huge sign for the girls to run through when they got home from their last day of school. Chris hid on the side of the house and stashed squirt guns by the porch so when the girls got out of the car we ambushed them! After a nice little water war, we pulled out the party poppers and let 'em fly! Then the girls went through their "Bucket of Summer Fun". We've been waiting for ya' Summer!

If you see a tree turn

I'm still not really sure how it's possible, but Kylie was playing kickball and ran right into the tree. She said that she thought she was running on the other side of it? Hmmm...maybe we ought to get the old eyes checked.

If You're Eating, You Might Want to Wait to Read This

So, we are back in the stage of a little baby crawling on the floor. Kensley's favorite past time is to find what ever she can, as small as she can, and put it in her mouth. We were having FHE at our friends house (who just happen to have small ant problem). I was up stairs making bracelets with some of the girls and Chris was downstairs with the other girls, when all the sudden I hear a very loud cry coming from my 8 month old. Kylie came running up the stairs yelling that Kensley was being eaten by and ANT. I ran downstairs to find that this Gynormous ANT had gotten too close to Kenlsey. Apperently, she tried to pick up the carpenter ant and eat it. The ant, trying to save her life, bit Kensley's lip and would not let go. Chris tried to pull it off and only half the body came off. The little creep was holding on for dear life. Chris got it off, but not with out a fight. Poor little Kenlsey got a little war wound from it. Do you think she learned her lesson about putting random objects in her mouth?...I don't think so.

You put the lime in the coconut

In this case, Kensley would be the coconut!

Birthdays!

May is a busy month for us. Kami's birthday is on the first and Kylie's on the second.
We had Kylie's first official slumber party. I made her a slumber cake and the girls got all "dressed up".
