From Scout Master to WHAT???

Chris was called as a High Councilman today. I'm anxious to see if he'll be more busy, less busy, or the same. I think it will be different busy. He is such a good man and I know he'll do a wonderful job. I LOVE YOU BABE! (sorry the picture is rough...my daughter took it)

Cassidy's Baptism

Chris baptized our second daughter, Cassidy, yesterday. She looked so beautiful and I could feel the beauty beaming from the inside of her even more. I'm so proud of her for making this important decision in her life. She has always had such a sweet spirit and caring heart. It's strange and a little overwhelming to know that I have 2 children at the age of accountability now. They are such strong women though, and I know that they are already touching the lives of others...especially my life. How blessed I am to have such blessings in my life. They make me want to be a better woman:)

More Hand Pics

Sterling... this was taken on Friday evening...
Saturday morning...
Saturday night...
and Sunday night.
I am amazed at how well it's healed in the last two days. What do you think?

As the Hand Heals

(these pictures are more for the family journal and progression of the wound's sake than anything else. Feel free to skip them)
These pictures were taken Sunday...4 days after the accident.

And these were taken tonight...7 days later.

This is how she holds her hand when not wrapped up. I think this angle is interesting because you can see the scoop filed out of the side of her middle and ring finger.

I don't even know what to name this post

First off, I'm sorry to all of you who have been waiting for me to update. Yes, I am a slacker. And then I had some good and not so good pictures to blog about, and some little child ( I'm not sure who) got a hold of my camera and accidentally deleted all my pictures of the past 3 months. It took me a while to get over it. But I finally did and here I am.
Life has been crazy busy. I don't know how my Mom did it with 8 kids. My business has been great! (which adds to the crazy busy) Kids have been sick on and off, I got sick for about a week (worse then I can remember), Kylie just got over strep, Kensley was REALLY sick for a week at the end of last month, blah blah blah. And from what I understand it's been that way for most folks out there!
As for my most recent craziness with other crazies in between, Kensley ended up in Urgent Care yesterday afternoon. I went to Jen's house to run on the treadmill (still trying to get ready for my half marathon) and not 3 minutes into it I hear a piercing scream. I turn around to find that Kensley (who is a year and a half) had her hand stuck underneath the back of the treadmill. I ripped the key out, jumped off and had to pry her pour little hand out from the tread and the rest of the machine. (one of those moments where you really don't want to look at the wound, I had to remind myself to breathe)
And so to spare you all a long blog, Kensley is doing well. She is a trooper and very brave. We took her in and got her all bandaged up. It's basically a 2nd degree burn. Here are some pictures, BEWARE. These were taken the day after. mother of the year

Unusual but AMAZING!

Chris and I just celebrated our 11th Anniversary!
Instead of getting away for the weekend and going somewhere romantic, just the two of us, we went to our scheduled youth activity. We met at the church at 5pm on Friday night and with most of or youth and leaders, and we read the BOOK OF MORMON! We did it in 24 hours and 10 minutes. I have to say that I wasn't quite sure how this was going to turn out, but it was INCREDIBLE!! I loved every minute of it. Our youth were awesome and good. It was so worth it. I love the book of mormon. I love reading about our Savior. And I feel so blessed that I'm in Young Womens and Chris in Young Mens that we are able to spend this time together. What an awesome Anniversary. We are really tired but the spirit is burning strong in us. What a perfect weekend.
Thanks to ALL my family who sacrificed and watched our children.

RANDOM

I was in the gym parking lot getting ready to leave when a man walked past my car. Here is how the conversation went inside my car:

Kensley: DADDY! DADDY!

Kami: Mom, why did Kensley call that man Daddy? He's not her Daddy.

Mom: Sometimes Kensley calls random men her Daddy.

Kami: His name is RANDOM? That's weird.

Mom: No his name is not Random, sometimes she calls lot's of random men her Daddy.

SILENCE......

Kami: OOHHH...I get it! She calls people who's name is Random Daddy!

Mom: nevermind.
